A MAN WITH SOME EXPERIANCE IN HIS HANDS IS CHOOSEN: NYSE Chief Is Chosen to Lead Merrill Lynch


Mr. Thain will take over a post at Merrill Lynch vacated by E. Stanley O’Neal who was ousted a few weeks ago.
John A. Thain, the chairman and chief executive of NYSE Euronext and a former co-president of Goldman Sachs, has been selected to be the next chief executive of Merrill Lynch, according to a person briefed on the situation.
